"This is a Holy Week unlike any other we've known; we'll remember it forever!"

"This is a Holy Week unlike any other we've known; we'll remember it forever!"

What an understatement!

When significant moments occur in times of crisis - we remember.

These are moments and times which shape us.

Some events are experienced collectively; others are much more personal.

All of them are remembered.

And, God, who redeems all things for His purposes, never wastes these experiences to shape our thinking, commitments, relationships, and especially our faith in Him.

THIS Holy Week is one of those moments.

Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter services will be remembered.

And, if the statistics are true, more people will hear the message of Jesus' cross and empty tomb than in a long time.

I read an article today from the Jerusalem Post (Joel C. Rosenberg, April 2, 2020) that included results of a survey done by McLaughlin and Associates (March 23-26, 2020), a nationally-respected polling company, that discovered a stunning 44% of Americans polled see the realities of COVID-19 as a "wake-up call for us to turn back to faith in God." 22% of non-Christians polled said that the crisis is causing them to start reading the Bible, listening to Bible teaching, and watching Christian sermons online even though they usually don't.

Who would have thought?  God did.

Our Lord is doing what He always does - removing obstacles for people to hear the saving news of Jesus Christ as Crucified Savior and Risen Lord.

Those who would never "darken the door of a church" are now entering a church-without-walls to hear the Gospel.

I cannot begin to tell you how humbled and joyful I am to learn of what you are doing together for the sake of the lost, for the Church, and especially to ensure the worship of your Savior, Lord, and God.

I pray that God sustains each of you this week, fills you with incredible joy, and provides you with a Holy Week that you'll NEVER forget.

Happy Easter!

Your Brother in Christ, Rev. Dr. Mike Gibson PSD President
