Intergenerational Wisdom

LINC SoCal

God is working through people every day, and it was no different on a warm Friday night at the end of June. LINC SoCal hosted an equip and inspire event with the theme, Intergenerational Wisdom. Stella Yau, LINC SoCal City Director shared, "The theme had two purposes: (1) the importance of leadership experiences being discussed between generations, and (2) understanding that we all have different approaches to life because of our upbringing and cultural differences, but we believe that having an open forum will start bridging any unknown gaps."

As a community, there is opportunity to grow by simply listening to one another and this was the goal of the LINC "equip and inspire" event: equipping leaders with leadership wisdom, and inspiring and encouraging them on their leadership journey via storytelling. "This is so important because at the core of LINC’s promise, 'No Leader Walks Alone,' we believe that empowered leaders empower others," Stella explained, "and this is just one of the ways for LINC SoCal to continue empowering local leaders who are already doing amazing things impacting their local communities with the Good News of Jesus."

With the partnership and support of PSD, LINC SoCal was able to host and provide a beautiful space for over 50 diverse local leaders to gather at the PSD Mission Development Center in Norwalk, CA (southern Los Angeles county). The space was filled with the people of God worshiping together, hearing stories from panelists of diverse backgrounds, and sharing a meal together. It was a room filled with ministry leaders, pastors, nonprofit leaders, redemptive business entrepreneurs, and younger generations growing in their leadership journey from various cultures and generations. It truly reflected the heart and the mission of LINC SoCal to serve the vastly diverse Southern California, as well, the desire to beautifully reflect the Body of Christ at work for God’s Kingdom. Stella summarized the responses she received from those who attended the event: "I am so grateful for this LINC event. After the gathering, what I realized and didn't know before, was how much I needed this space to gather, connect, and network with other leaders. Being a leader is such a lonely journey and being able to meet other leaders encouraged me, gave me hope, and lessened the loneliness of being set apart doing what others don't often understand." God @ Work intergenerationally and relationally!

Enable more stories of transformed lives through Jesus

Untold thousands are still in darkness, lost like “sheep that have gone astray”. But this is exactly the mission our Lord has created His Church for – reaching the lost for Jesus’ sake in as many ways as necessary. This is the purpose for which our 300 churches and 150 schools were founded in their many contexts. And “the fields are ripe for the harvest” right now!

Your gifts are critical and enable us to continue and expand our shared work together, fulfilling the PSD mission of effectively resourcing congregations and schools for transforming lives and making the Great Commission REAL!
