God @ Work From Generation to Generation
Christ Lutheran Church & School Rancho Palos Verdes, CA
During the past year and a half, and from generation to generation, God has been at work through Christ Lutheran Church and School in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA. Whether online, outside, or in person, He is faithful!
Rev. Cal Kapels, Christ-Rancho Palos Verdes’ pastor, shared that
“We have stayed refreshed and renewed in God’s love and grace day by day. We also give God thanks and praise for leading 17 people to Baptism this past year.”
During one of their chapel services they were excited to celebrate with two Kindergarteners and one 4th grader as they were baptized into God’s family! Nathan, a Kindergarten student that was baptized, has already talked about being a pastor one day. His sister, Layla, who was the 4th-grade student that was baptized is already in our kid’s praise team at church.
From leading us to faith, to growing us in faith, it is amazing to see God at work. Another amazing example is a young woman named Nina. Nina attended Christ Lutheran School from Transitional Kindergarten through 8th-grade, but was never a member of the church.
This past March, she and her family were part of the 34 people who became church members.
Now as a Senior in High School, Nina is part of their church ministry team as she helped lead their VBS program with over 120 kids and 70 volunteers involved throughout the week.
Nina is also using her gift for music as she is leading Christ Lutheran’s Praise Band, Youth Praise Team, and High School Youth Group. Rev. Kapels commented,
“We give God the thanks and praise for the faith Nina was taught during her time at Christ Lutheran School, and now seeing her faith in action at Christ Lutheran Church she is a great role model for our younger generation of how God will work in their lives.”
From a 103-year-old lifelong member of Christ Lutheran learning about Facebook to join their church services online when they were forced to do so during Covid, to the baptism of a great granddaughter of a lifelong member there, God is at work from one generation to the next! All thanks and praise to Christ, who is working all things for His good purposes!
