At North Valley Christian Academy (NVCA), God's transformative power is evident through the lives of students and staff as they grow in their faith and actively serve others. From local outreach initiatives to international missions, NVCA is a vibrant community where students are learning to live out the love of Christ in tangible ways.
One of the most exciting moments in the life of the school this year was the baptism of 17 students during a chapel service. This powerful experience marked a significant step in the students' faith journeys, publicly receiving the gifts of the Sacrament. This event was not just a personal milestone for the students involved but also a testament to the spiritual growth taking place throughout the school.
Beyond the chapel, NVCA students are actively involved in missions both locally and globally. Middle and high school students have the opportunity to go on mission trips to a variety of destinations, including Ecuador, Greece, Poland, Jamaica, and Mexico. These trips provide students with hands-on opportunities to serve others, share the gospel, and witness God at work in different cultures. Additionally, high school students participate in a dedicated missions week, where they serve in local communities and throughout the United States, making a meaningful impact while deepening their own faith.
One of the school's ongoing missions partnerships is with Esperanza para los Niños, an orphanage in Mexico. NVCA students actively support this ministry by raising funds, collecting donations, and giving offerings. Their compassion for the children at Esperanza demonstrates the school’s commitment to reaching out beyond their own community to help those in need.
The spirit of service extends to NVCA’s school culture in many creative and impactful ways. The National Honor Society at NVCA led a food drive to support local families, reflecting the school’s emphasis on serving others. Middle school students have also contributed by teaching preschoolers about science, while older students serve as classroom assistants for younger grades, fostering an environment of mentorship and support.
In addition to these outreach efforts, students regularly engage with younger children in fun and educational ways. For example, the boys' basketball team has made it a tradition to read to younger grades, sharing the joy of literacy and encouraging younger students. High school American Sign Language (ASL) students have also taken the initiative to teach preschoolers basic sign language, broadening their communication skills and fostering inclusivity in the school environment.
All of these initiatives reflect the school’s culture of grace, where kindness, compassion, and selflessness are modeled by students and staff alike. At NVCA, God is at work, molding students into individuals who are not only academically prepared but also spiritually and socially engaged, ready to serve their communities and make a difference in the world.
Enable more stories of transformed lives through Jesus
Untold thousands are still in darkness, lost like “sheep that have gone astray”. But this is exactly the mission our Lord has created His Church for – reaching the lost for Jesus’ sake in as many ways as necessary. This is the purpose for which our 300 churches and 150 schools were founded in their many contexts. And “the fields are ripe for the harvest” right now!
Your gifts are critical and enable us to continue and expand our shared work together, fulfilling the PSD mission of effectively resourcing congregations and schools for transforming lives and making the Great Commission REAL!
